Porter (2009)
I approached him cautiously. The nature of his question still triggered in me an instinctive suspicion, but his tone and his imploring expression reminded me that he couldn't possibly be hiding an ulterior motive behind the question. I wanted to believe that.
'I'm sorry,' I said, once I was within less than two feet's distance of Denny and once my forearm was resting on the hood of a truck I was standing near. 'I can't tell you.' Then, I added, 'I can't tell anyone,' in the futile hope that this would aid him in understanding. 'I honestly can't tell you.'

Duchess of Shards (2014)
JULIETTE
She stopped breathing Rex, I don't know what to say.
REX
She was still breathing when they took her out, I swear she was. I think she was, wasn't she?
JULIETTE lifts her head and looks at REX with a pained and helpless expression.
REX
I'm going to the ICU.
JULIETTE
Don't honey, it's too late. We should just--
REX
(shouting)
I have to stay with her!
JULIETTE kneels beside REX and wipes a trickling tear from his face then embraces him.
REX fishes in his pocket then hands JULIETTE a set of car keys.
REX
Don't tell the kids about today when you pick them up.

Bruiser (2015)
She turns leisurely and regards me with amused surprise. “How do you feel? Alright?”
“Oh yeah I’m…” I clear my throat and try to dispel my nerves. “I guess I’m just curious to know what I’ve done to merit the honor.” I gesture to Grace’s general direction.
Grace faces the billowing smoke column. “I have something important to tell you. Come.” She paces along the edge of the building and I follow, deferentially treading the side nearer the 30-foot drop.
I gulp. “Have I killed someone?”
Grace answers, “No.” I sigh, releasing my apprehension as a satisfyingly opaque vapor cloud. “Did you think you had?” she asks.
I shrug. “I was just wondering. I wouldn’t know if I had.”
